 COMPANY DANCE TRAVERSE |
|
Company Dance Traverse strives to give serious dancers additional training, choreography, and performing
experience. CDT dancers are between the ages of 8-18, and perform both locally and regionally every 6
weeks. Betsy Carr has been the Artistic Director of CDT for the past 12 years.
CDT has earned many honors – including the one company selected to represent the State of Michigan  at
the International “Dance Excellence” Festival in 2006, 2007, and 2008.. At this festival in Los Angeles, CDT
performed at Disneyland, participated in outstanding Master Classes and earned high scores in this
International Competition.
CDT has also toured and performed in Europe with 3 other high caliber pre-professional companies, and at
National competition in New York City where they were named the “Class Act Winners”. This honor was
given to the company with the most professional, age appropriate choreography performed by the dancers
in a “Class Act” fashion. CDT dancers train 4-6 days each week to attain this level of success.
CDT also produces “The Nutcracker” every other year. This highly anticipated ballet features our dancers
performing alongside professional guests. CDT Alumni have earned many college scholarships, and are
currently dancing in Ballet, Modern, and Jazz Companies throughout the U.S., and Canada.
Our dancers have been selected for National Tours of Broadway Shows, Commercial Work, and more.
Auditions are held at the end of our Summer Intensive in August of each year. |

| PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES |

| Spring Concert |
|
| As performing is an integral part of the training process of a dancer, we offer performing opportunities for our students. All children's classes will be working toward our yearend concert during the last ten weeks of winter term. Selected adult classes will also participate. The option is available to enroll in technique only classes without concert participation. |

| The Nutcracker |
|
| Dance Arts Academy and Company Dance Traverse present the Nutcracker during early December of the even numbered years. Auditions are held in August and a 12-week rehearsal process follows. We have over 100 dancers in the cast, including some international guests artists! Dancers age 7 and up are eligible to perform in this beautiful holiday tradition. |

| Irish Performances |
|
| Our Irish dancers perform in several events and parades during the month of March. Under the direction of Karen McCarthy, these activities are wonderful for showcasing the energy and technique of our Irish students. |
